Carice had an editorial and interview in the dutch Linda Magazine (one of the biggest magazines of Holland) in the January issue of this year. We added the magazine scans, first outtakes of the photoshoot, captures of the behind the scenes video and a photo on set in our gallery. You can watch the video after the jump.

HBO released a new video last week with behind the scenes footage of “Games of Thrones“. We get a new glimpse of Carice as Melisandre.

Paris Premiere for “Ingrid Jonker” (Black Butterflies)

Carice attended the premiere for “Ingrid Jonker” (Black Butterflies) in Paris, France earlier this week with director Paula van der Oest. The movie will hit theaters February 22nd in France.

New trailer for “Intruders”

Millenium Entertainment released a new trailer, this is the second one, for “Intruders” a horror/thriller starring Carice, Clive Owen and Izan Corchero. The movie will be released March 30. We only get a few glimpses of Carice but it looks promising! The official plot can be found below as well.

Though no one can see him, Hollow Face lurks in the corners, desperately desiring love but only knowing how to spread fear and hate. He creeps into the life of John Farrow (Clive Owen) after Farrow’s beloved 13-year-old daughter Mia (Ella Purnell) is assaulted in their home. The line between the real and the imaginary blurs as fissures start to open within the family unit. It seems that no security measure can keep Hollow Face out.

From visionary filmmaker JUAN CARLOS FRESNADILLO (28 Weeks Later, the upcoming Highlander reboot), INTRUDERS is the chilling story of two children living in different countries, each visited nightly by a faceless being who wants to take possession of them.

Carice in 2011: A Year in Review

We decided to make summary/review of this year. 2011 has been an amazing year for Carice. With only one movie actually being released this year (“Black Butterflies”) we were afraid it was going to be a quiet year. But luckily it turned out this was not going to be the case. Carice has been busy promoting “Intruders” as well. With over 50+ news post Carice showed us she had been busy in 2011.

2011 started without a lot of news. The occasional review for “Black Butterflies” or “Stricken” came by but other than that the first few months were quite slow on news. In March this started to change. Pictures of her Mexx Campaign were released and the “BBC Human Planet” series was released in the Netherlands on March 29. Carice narrated the Dutch version. In March she also made her first public appearance of the year while attending the premiere of “Gooische Vrouwen”.

In April Carice went to the States to promote “Black Butterflies” at the Tribeca Film Festival. During these few days lots of new pictures, videos and interviews appeared online. Carice was even honored with the award for Best Actress in a Narrative Feature Film.

Jury Comments: “There are a million colors in this complicated performance. We award this honor for bravery and fragility, and for showing tremendous range and strength throughout.”

In that same period it was also announced that Carice was once again nominated for a Rembrandt Award, which she also won. The following months were quite again. In June Carice attended a presentation for her biography. A beautiful book filled with her life story and gorgeous pictures was to be released throughout bookstores in The Netherlands. In July amazing news reached us. Carice got a role in the HBO hit series “Game of Thrones”. She would join the second season which will air in April 2012.

In the summer the new Winter/Fall campaign for Mexx was released. In July the first trailer for “Intruders” was released and it wasn’t long before the promotion for this film started. In the beginning of August it was announced that “Intruders” would open the Spanish San Sebastian International Film Festival in September. A little while later it was announced that the film would also be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival but Carice did not attend that festival to promote it. However on September 16 Carice was present at the San Sebastian International Film Festival. Attending a photocall, press conference and the premiere.

After her promotion for “Intruders” she attended the Dutch Film Festival where she was once again honored with a Gouden Kalf (Golden Calve, the biggest Dutch film price) for her role in “Black Butterflies”. It was the fifth time she won the award. Something that does not happen often. During the film festival she also attended several premieres.

Via twitter Carice let us know that she was in Ireland a lot to shoot “Game of Thrones”. In October it was announced that “Black Butterflies” was sold to the US amongst other countries. In November we heard the news that Carice was cast in “Jackie” a Dutch road movie which was shot this fall in New Mexico. It will be the first time that Carice and her sister Jelka will star in a movie together. A few weeks later we learned that Holly Hunter joined the project. They finished shooting just before christmas.

As for Carice, she has always been in the forefront of our minds, ever since we saw Black Book five years ago. – Why they wanted Carice in Game of Thrones

Best Red Carpet Look
My favorite red carpet look was hard to pick. I loved her dress at the premiere of “Intruders” but in the end the dress she wore to the “Black Butterflies” premiere won.

Best News
The best news of 2011 was really hard to pick as two really cool projects were announced. I would have to go with the news of her casting in “Game of Thrones” cause this means we will see her on television for a couple of weeks in a row. I must say I am really excited about “Jackie” too.

Best Photoshoot
We had an amazing portrait session this year which has to win as Carice looked stunning in it.

Best Magazine Feature
Although we don’t have scans in our gallery of it just yet (they are coming) I have to pick the editorial she has in the current Linda. magazine. Scans will follow.

Best Project
It’s not hard to pick the best project as there only has been one that was actually released. We have to go with “Black Butterflies”. Carice was absolutely amazing in this film and we are so glad it got recognized worldwide.

First Look at Carice in Game of Thrones!

HBO released a new video a few weeks ago that gives us a behind the scenes look of the second season of the acclaimed “Games of Thrones“. We also get a glimpse of Carice as Melisandre around the 0:15 mark.

Miss Minoes is getting a US release!

One of Carice’s first feature films is getting a release in English. The film is originally a dutch movie, but it will be in english when they are releasing it in the US. It’s still on of our favorites, so be sure to catch it in theaters if you can.

This utterly charming classic family film tells the tale of Miss Minoes, a cat who is transformed into a young woman (Carice van Houten) and befriends Tibbe (Theo Maassen), a shy bumbling cub reporter for the local newspaper. Miss Minoes, still recognized as a cat by the neighborhood felines despite her new appearance, organizes them into a news-gathering service and helps Tibbe become a star reporter. He soon turns investigative and discovers that the popular chairman of the “Club For Friends of Animals” and boss of a nearby factory has evil plans…

Holly Hunter joins “Jackie”

Exciting casting news for “Jackie” and be sure to follow Carice @caricevhouten because she recently flew to New Mexico to film the movie.

Antoinette Beumer to direct Dutch road movie, which begins shooting on Monday in New Mexico.
AMSTERDAM – Oscar-winner Holly Hunter (The Piano) has signed on to play one of the leading roles in Jackie, a Dutch road movie from director Antoinette Beumer.

The film follows Dutch twin sisters who travel to America to look for their long-lost mother, played by Hunter. The siblings are played by real-life sisters Carice van Houten (Blackbook) and Jelka van Houten (The Domino Effect).

Beumer, whose own sister is X-Men star Famke Janssen, is an established director of mainstream features in the Netherlands. Her last two films – the thriller Loft and the romantic comedy The Happy Housewife, the latter also starred Carice van Houten, were local box office hits.

Jackie begins shooting on Monday in New Mexico. Dutch-based Eyeworks is producing and eying a May 17, 2011 release in the Netherlands.
